I never use anything smaller than a 5 liner for outlining, and that’s on small pieces. Bigger pieces get a 7 liner. Using 3s for outlining is just going to lead to shaky, uneven lines, and going over the thing 3 or 4 times is just scarring up your clients. Save the 3s for small detail work and use 5s or 7s to get a nice, smooth, bold outline.

ive only been tattooing for 2 1/2 years and this guy has no clue what he is talking about ive used round shaders on things similar to this tattoo but i would use something as small as an eight round. try a 14 or something. and btw. never start with lighter pigmeants first ALWAYS work from dark to light, and this guy is have trouble with the ink not because of the skin but because of his technques
